Thanks for the post, the clone/mother/progressive cycle is the area that i have least knowledge in, and i know it's most important for maximizing yield, so again, thanks, especially for that root ball trimming reminder... i remember reading about the benefits of that but would have completely forgot it. |

The spot gets smaller, and i get bigger, trying to get in where i fit in, no room for a nigga... |

I'm pretty sure you can take as many cuttings as you want, although the more cuttings you take at any one time, the more stress you cause to the plant. Mother plants are already stressed from being cut often/living for so long, so i would imagine taking excessive cuttings at any one time would only greaten the chances of stressing it into having some male tendencies. |

To keep a plant from budding it is usually given at least 18 hours of light a day. (Veg stage) I take 8 cuts at a time but this plant can give up to maybe 24 good cuts per root trim. They can all be taken at once, I usually chop the whole thing in half and flat top it like a hedge, then cut up the roots. They are very resilient and true females are quite resistant to herm.

I have seen flowered plants that were finished that this old cat used to cut off all the tops and leave the spindly bottoms and regenerate them with a 24 hr light cycle. This would take atleast 2 months for the whole process and he has done this for over 12 years before i picked up a clone and I have kept it alive thru clone mothers for 8+ years. It is still very viable and a very worthy genetic to keep alive to say the least. To those that say clones wear out, BULLSHIT! It is the care that you are giving, or lack of. Your genes don't change because you got sick, it just takes a bit to get back to health with a proper diet and good general care. |

Nice one, i'm glad you were able to keep her. I have been lucky in keeping parents alive, once forgot a mother in the washer discharge sink and she got a good 10-15 gallon flush of soapy dirty water . Was kinda worried but she seemed to like it. I've heard of plants loosing viability but haven't experienced it myself. Thanks EpicToker! Wanted to say, this is my version of a thread 'All About Bonsai Mums' by Oldtimer1, which i learned and was inspired from.
