I've vegged under my flowering sHPS bulb. I've vegged under some T5 fixtures that hydrofarm sells. vegging with sHPS = ++ power cost ++heat issues... not much more. T5's are lovely, an 8 tube fixture is cooled by a 4inch desk fan... and guess what.... a fraction of the power cost.

I'm starting to realize what most of these forums are made up of: A bunch of people who READ alot and DO little... then they REGURGITATE what they READ with little EXPERIENCE and make their OWN CONCLUSIONS that usually make them look RETARDED. I fell victim to this many times as a novice. I'd suggest most people who have never DONE, keep READING and stop POSTING. Leave the advice to the DOERS.

I would argue there is an environmental influence...as I have had clones from the same plant, produce different inter-node lengths, depending on environmental variables.

Pot size seems to be a big influence.

Great thread Satan.....I just bought a 1000 digi that came with both bulbs. So I tossed the MH in cause hell they are veggin right. Well up went the heat by 3-4 degree's C and down went the lumens. The hps goes back in its home tomorrow, the MH can collect dust.

isn't the point of using a MH in veg make make the plant grow slower so the inter nodes are closer together so the buds are more compact..? atleast that what I was told...
