Napa, what's that? The auto parts county?
Depending on what bottling you were drinking, there's a chance it came from Sonoma county. They have a Napa and Sonoma bottling, with vineyards in both counties, and separate wineries too.

sounds good either way!

can ya do it like me, cash checks at the bank wit no ID, can ya blow by me when i'm doin 100?

HashBoss - Thanks and I deffinatly will! I am in desperate need to finally make it out to Cali.. Hopefully early 2009 it will slow down and I can get away again. It's one of my passions to see behind the scenes and how places like that work, I would be honored to get a glimpse of any of those places you mentioned. You've really dropped man, congratulations! I had gotten a little too big for my liking and dropped 40 pounds these past 4 months. On top of everything I constantly taste, the late night smoking and following munchies were no good. Working out and eating right were the key without a doubt.

spliff - Silver Oak makes a Napa Valley and an Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. It was deffinatly the Napa as I get a few bottles of each throught the year usually for doing good. My boss goes out a few times a year to stay at the wineries. She gets freakin' comped for everything. Stays at the vinyards for free, free meals, wine etc... We had a Silver Oak wine dinner a couple years ago and the owner came in to talk directly with our customers. They're big on the Silver Oak and Chimney Rock around here.

You are so lucky, that was quite an experience! Cheese is one of my favourite foods and I keep trying to experience more and more variety but damn it gets expensive; I was spending $35+ a week for awhile there.

St Andre is up there as one of my top 3, but cheddar and havarti are definitely my day to day varieties.

Thanks for the pics!

I had forgotten about this thread Thanks for the compliments guys!

Was an awesome experience. Just got an order from Murray's today in fact. Got a new cheese, Meunier Timanoix. Made in switzerland by abby monks, nice little tomme washed in walnut liquor with a little funk. Some of Meunier's (affineur or cheese ager) 18 month comte d'Alpage. The Comte is made with summer milk when the cows graze high in the Alps on a widely varied diet of grasses, herbs and flowers, only available for june, july and august and is AMAZING!!!

A lucky tc'er has a package on the way right now of these goodies

GreenIrie - If you like St Andre try some Brillat Savarin. Very similar but a bit more creamy. Pierre Robert and Delice de Bourgogne are all in that same category. Tripple cream bloomy rind cheeses. Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam is similar but from the US. Cheese can get expensive without a doubt. We have cheeses that are $30+ per lb. in house right now. Saw a goats milk blue offered last year at freakin $75lb!! Even my cheese rep said that was not worth it at all.
