My "new" setup/My RI experience!

So first off, let me explain why new is in quotations. I got a lux mini...and I love it, but I got it about two months ago now, so technically it isnt new. I just did not want to post it up alone, since there have been enough of those posts, so we get the idea of what a lux mini looks like. I got it at OPM, and let me just say that place is sick. So much sick ass heady glass. The guy who sold it to me was also real nice, was great to shoot the shit with, and I actually found out that he is from the same area as me in MA...go figure. He even gave my girlfriend a free Formula 420 shirt since it was her birthday, which was real cool...so here is the lux mini alone...




So it's been about two months now, and I've been dying to get one of the new Toro chubbler a/cs. I kept hearing from The Kind Connection and OPM that they'd get them in, and finally, on Friday I found out that OPM had some in. So I drove about an hour or so down to get one, all excited, and said "Hey, can I get a Toro chubbler a/c to fit my lux mini?" It was a different guy then the first one I did business with, and once again, he was a real cool/nice guy (his name is Junior). So he gives me the a/c, take a quick look at it to make sure there's nothing wrong with it, and I walk out all excited to use it! I get home and try to put it on my mini...and guess what...IT'S THE WRONG SIZE! FUCK! I need a 14, and it's an 18. I guess either Junior took out the diffy and then fitted it or had a 18 diffy in when he fitted it. Either way, it was a simple mistake that both of us missed. So I call them up, talk to them, it's not a problem at all, come down and switch it...so today I drove down again, this time with my girlfriend, and did it and, in the process, made a day of it! Junior also gave me a free bottle of Formula 420 for the trouble, which was cool.

So my girlfriend and I hit up Providence, went to a nice ass hookah bar and also went to Spike's Junkyard Dogs (best hot dogs...ever) and had a great day! Made the most of having to make another hour trip.

We also went to The Kind Connection since it was right in the area and I must say, even though they don't have nearly as much as OPM, it's still a pretty nice shop with some nice Toro stuff. They also had two nice inlines bubs from a local artist in RI, some nice Freeek stuff, and more. Let me also say that the owner there was real cool, and another great guy to shoot the shit with/talk about glass.

So in all, I love RI and the smoke shops in it...or at least the ones I went to, and recommend them to anyone who can go!

So that's about it...sorry for the long ass post along with my pics...I just figured I'd share my story! One last thing...may be a stupid question but it's possible to have a bushing diffy in the lux mini right? I just have never seen anyone rock one, so I figured I'd ask...because I'd like the chubbler to be a little more low profile and not stick out so much if possible...

nice setup man. I've got the same except I have a straight. Yeah it is definitely possible to have a bushing diffy on any 18 joint

I can't believe the store owner gave you a 18 gage chubbler for your lux mini. Don't all lux mini's come with 18-14 reducing diffusers? Either way, I also bought a lux mini beaker bottom from OPM a while back, and I find that they are great people to talk to. Sweet bong too how are you liking the hit?

When it comes to shops like those two, I'm more than happy to do it. I used to go to Good Times in Manch until the whole fiasco...but now that I've seen these places, I've found my new spot

Yeah, they all do, but it was a mistake...we all make them, so no big deal. I should have payed more attention. I love the beaker base...gotta have that extra room for such a small tube, not to mention a little more weight...

That sucks man...I'm sorry to hear it. It definitely makes me nervous at times, and is a little more difficult to work with than a pill bottle a/c. When you take it off the tube with water still in it, you can't lay it down or anything or else it water will drip out of it, which is kind of a pain. I'm definitely going to be as careful as possible with it...
