Default water transport

what up guys so im am looking to make '10 my first outdoor season

me and a close friend have a nice guerilla spot picked out that is through a little park/campground, and then down a long trail (and then off into the woods) so it should probably be an easy going spot.

our main concern is water. the spot is right next to a river, but on the opposite side of a levee that contains the river. this levee is about 30 feet high.

now i was thinking we could just siphon the water over the levee but i am not quite sure if the area where we wanna plant is below the water level (im just assuming it is or...there wouldnt be a levee there???) but could you physically get the water going without a pump?

if we are not able to siphon it what is the best way to pump it over?
we need something that will be quick so the irrigation will not have to be exposed for long. also has to be silent, and preferably on the cheap side.....

we really dont wanna be hauling 5 gallon can's up and over for 20-30 plants ever week

This might be a good starting point.

runs on battery, and can pump pretty much anything. including diesel, apparently.

Fill the hose with water, plug one end while you leave the other end under water, put the plugged end at a point lower than the water, and unplug it....it'll flow due to gravity & air surface pressure.

I can't offer much more information than these guys have. A rubber hose could work or a powered pump, which usually makes noise. Not many choices.

If youre meaning that youd have to dangle a hose 30ft Vertically over a wall into water, and then dangle the other end 30ft down over the other side to you.........I think if its a normal 1.5" or 2" garden hose youd need about 2500-3000 gallons of water worth of pressure on your end to make enough vacuum to even get the water flowing over the bend at the top. Thatd be like a 20,000ft long hose. I mean it is possible, but you better just go with something portable and battery/fuel powered.

Good luck

And im pretty sure if the hose is making a 30ft vertical drop into the water, they would still have to Prime the hose with water somehow to get the flow starting....Itd have to be one hell of a crank man on that pump to get flow going from something 30ft lower than it

best bet is filling the jugs and carrying them up. i feel like a hose/pump setup outside would be kind of hard to hide and in the end somebody would steal all of your plants. I use 5 gallon gas cans (brand new never had gas in them) and they seem to work pretty good. If there is 2 of you, you can carry 10 gallons and 10 gallons is a decent amount of water

bury it, shit it isnt hard to hide. But I mean it may over water though, right? Be best if you were able to fill a jug and bring to them . But dont leave the jugs around. and be sure to use a different path everytime, to avoid creating a trail that can be seen from above....
