One thing I figured out, then saw others were just as smart over on FC (I'll be smarter when I look around more and after I read that 95+ page thread over there), is to weigh the damn cart. I found the two I have are 7.5g empty and 10 with the mouth piece, so it is easy to figure out what the level is. Of course, you have to be near a scale. So, while it's not the best solution to that issue, it is not as bad as I had thought it might be yesterday and I am back to hoping the carts last closer to the advertised five grams or so. Maybe the THC guys have some secret idea to solve this?

One thing I noticed, but will have to give it some time to really get a feel for it, was the vapor was milk until I got down to 1/2g, then it got wispy. I scratched my head and then, tried topping the cart off. That worked? Milk once again! Not sure I understand that, especially since I thought the heater element was at the bottom?

Hope that THC guys have some new info on these new carts they are making. I was looking yesterday at some of the competitors offerings, but if THC is close to having theirs out on the street, I might wait. THC.... any time frame for us that you can share?

It needs about .4 to operate, remember since it is a tank system the walls are covered with oil, if you want to fully use it down the the last .2 you need to heat up the top to get all the oil to drip down.

pulled the batteries off the charger to use it, when the carts are off the light on the button lights up. it had oil in it so it was clogged just like when it was working.

no. the carts are broken or the unit no longer works with carts attached. as i said it lights up when they are removed. either way its completely useless after very little use...

are you sure you properly stored it and made sure the carts were unclogged when you put it away?

it seems like a very odd issue if its clogged but not with oil.

can you posts some pics so we can help, maybe its a simple error?

Okay... after a couple of grams through this thing, I have some more to say.

First of all... that thread on FC is too big. It is impossible to find good info in it. Plus, the half of it or so that I have read shows a bunch of recommendations from both the company and the users... all conflicting and all different (even the company has switched it up several times?).

When I first got the unit, it was great... then the clogs started. I decided to give it a chance since new carts were coming out supposedly that will correct this issue. Again... beta testing.

With the clogs, the unit is difficult to use and then next thing you know since I am pulling harder to rid the clogs, the thing starts leaking. Switch to the other cart and at first... huge hits and clouds and before long.... clogged!

So now with two carts clogged and leaking.... I was still vaping and semi happy, knowing their would be a different design soon. Then it happened.... within ten minutes of each other, both carts went bad. I am now left here with two semi full, non working carts.

So maybe I am an idiot... but decided I am not waiting for THC to fix this at my cost (assume the future carts will cost me cash). I ordered a DART cart from Thermovape to see if it is any better... I hope so.

If I can get a cart that doesn't just suck, this thing is going to be epic... with the current crop of carts that THC is selling.... I would warn others to hold off. That is a very different thought than I had a few days ago.

And there might be an additional issue. As I previously stated, I have about a 1.5g/week habit, but in just two or three days, I went through 2gs, yet feel no more medicated than normal. Either it is inefficient as well or I am just playing with it too much. Never the less, the high will never, ever touch TI. Not even close.

As for my previous comparo with the HSC product, I think the HSC gives bigger, better hits with proper heat (table torch vs pocket-able one), but this one is better for travel due to not having to pull out a torch.

Any ideas about other carts? Will the clear one ZED linked to on the Gentleman's site be problematic since it isn't all metal?

And speaking of not all metal.... the Thermovape points out no wicks, solider, etc.. What is inside of the D9 carts? I hope a similar configuration.

Oh... one last thing. Both carts, prior to dying, were still exhibiting that nasty taste and smell. Not good at all as it never went away.

I'll give a review of how the other cart works on the Persei. Hopefully it fixes these issues and hopefully D9 comes up with their own, better solution as well, but currently... the carts are not good at all. Over on FC, it looked to be a good portion of the issues people were having.

Maybe this is an issue with all brand carts?

What batteries are recommended for 6v operation? I have some AW protected 750mha 16430s I use in a flashlight... will they be sufficient?

I can't comment on the dart, but I can comment that we have sold over 30k cartridges and issues are about 2-3%.

The issue your having with clogging is that your not allowing the unit to cool down in between hits, and you are inhaling to fast.

Reasons clogs happen is this since te heater core is small and can not vaporize fast enough combined with inhaling to fast you draw the liquid into the air tube and you stop using it the liquid solidifies and clogs the air hole on the bottom.

Now combine this with not allowing the cartridge to cool down then this turns into a issue. If you can contact us we be glad to send out a tester pack of 4.0 ohm cartridges that should taste better and give you some pointers.

For what it's worth I have had no problems with my cartridges and have filled one with 5 grams so far with no signs that it is about to break. I get clogs almost every time, but they clear easily during priming.

The only thing that I need now is the Nail Cartridge. I saw it listed on the site again and it is driving me crazy waiting for it. Please release it soon THC, the nail cart will make the Persei hands down the best vape pen. Please please please release it soon.
