Default Post your Organic Soil Mixtures!

Hmm, I stumbled across this section and thought "gee, they don't have any posts on Organic Mixes"
So I humbly take the duty of offering the first mixture suggestion, which gave me truly wonderful buds.

I started with Burn1's reccomendation for a base:

3 parts Pro Mix
3 parts peat
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings

Then, added the following ratios (again, thanks to Burn1, LavenderCowboy)
Dry Ferts:
1 tablespoon bloodmeal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
2 tablespoons bonemeal per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
1 tablespoon kelp meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix or Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract as directed
1 tablespoon per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of Jersey greensand to suppliment the K in the Kelp Meal and seaweed extract.

However, I skipped the kelp meal... next time def. a must because I saw a little K deficiency in the grow.

This mix worked very well for me, and when I watered with neptune's organic 2-4-1 fertilizer I saw really nice results. I just should have vegged longer! Here's a pic of a Cindy bud grown with the mixture given.

50% Coco
30% Perlite
20% Earthworm Castings
3/4 Cup of Dolomite Lime per cu.ft of medium.

Will feed with Guano teas.

Veg nute tea mix:
1/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano (PSG)
1/3 cup High N Bat Guano
1/3 cup Earthworm Castings(EWC)

@ 1 cup mix/5 gallons of water EVERY 3rd watering.

Flowering nute tea mix:
2/3 cup PSG
2/3 cup Earthworm Castings
2/3 cup High P Guano (Indonesian or Jamacian)
@ 2 cups/5 gallons of water EVERY watering.
+
1/3 cup kelp meal

Skipped on kelp Lots of good stuff in there If you forget to add it in your mix or just starting to notice a K def. You can make a kelp tea.

RIP Cane

1 cu.ft of fox farm Ocean Forest Soil
1 cu.ft of fox farm Light Warrior = 12.84 gallons

I would add between 5 gallons of perlite, 1.2-2 gallons of earthworm castings, and 1-2 table spoons of dolomite lime per gallon of medium.

Would feed with guano teas.

RIP Cane

Frosty : those look like some killer mixtures! I've been hooked on coco recently. Used to use a mixture much like the first you mentioned, but have since switched to straight coco. Coco rox!

yeah frosty those mixes are almost identical to mine! i love the fox farm ocean forest + light warrior topped off with extra castings and pearlite. i add this stuff made by biobizz called promix its awesome stuff. if you havent used biobizz i would really look into it all their stuff is extracted from molasses and kelp, the bud taste is always super sweet and little flush is needed, theyre so soft you use them with EVERY watering... the alg-a-mic sea kelp extract is the SHIT ive had awesome results over standard seakelp blended stuff.....

i know some of my pics on other parts of the forum show plastic pots, this was a HUGE mistake, it was from early in my growing days =(

ALWAYS use clay pots they are the fucking shit. they are porous and evap extra water out of the soil straight through the clay way before root rot becomes an issue. not to mention how much O2 gets to the roots when theyre piled up next to that porous clay! i use the 14 inch pots from walmart... man theyre huge theyre probably about 8 gallons and the plants get monstous in em!

#1:
1/3 worm castings
1/3 composted manure
1/3 coarse sand

#2:
1/3 worm castings
1/3 perlite
1/3 vermiculite

#3:
1/3 peat
1/3 vermiculite
1/3 worm castings

to each add 1 cup fine dolomite lime per cubic foot - or one ounce per gallon

easy and works great. IMHO

BAKED NOT PHRIED.
